Shannons' 2017 "Take Your Tops Off" Convertible Car Show

The cheekily named Shannon's Take Your Tops Off car show is an annual event raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and is easily the best display of convertibles in Tasmania.  This year's event, staged on the lawns of Hobart's Parliament House in Salamanca Place, was held on Saturday the first of April.

The quality, quantity and variety of cars displayed was amazing, with rag- and tin-top convertibles from all eras and most manufacturers present.  Tiny 1930s Austins shared the stage with current model supercars from the likes of Porsche and Ferrari, and the crowds loved them all!

There are no participants' fees, nor do patrons pay to see the display.  Money is raised through the purchase of pink ribbons - the Breast Cancer Foundation's symbol - which are then placed in front of the cars in a form of citizen voting whereby the number of ribbons determines the winner of the day's event.

Please enjoy the following photos.  Even better, get down to next year's event, admire the display, buy a pink ribbon, vote for your favourite car and help support vital breast cancer research!
