Readers' Photos # 113: Pontiac Firebird

Am I the only person that thinks that the Pontiac Firebird / Chevvy Comaro twins are two of the original cars to properly embody "stance"?  No matter what angle you view it from, it looks like it's ready to leap forward and tear the throat out of some poor, innocent family hack (Toyota Camrys come to mind).   These images - from the Canberra Correspondent - capture this beautifully, showing off every angle, haunch and muscular bulge.  It's the perfect combination of elegance and aggression! Club Motori Italia Baskerville Hillclimb: July, 2021 (On-Track Action)

Looks expensive! Car # 52, David McCullagh's Impreza STi, exits the event. No one enjoys seeing a competitor's car out of action due to a blown motor or as a result of a bingle.  Fortunately, the ominous smoke pouring out of David McCullagh's Subie was the only mechanical issue seen during the last couple of pre-lunch sessions and before the event's conclusion, due to light rain, at Club Motori Italia's July '21 Baskerville round of their popular hillclimb series.  There were no prangs, either.   Pleasingly - for David, if not the others he was competing directly against - whatever popped on his car held on long enough for him to put in some impressive times, taking out first place in the packed Class F (AWD) field.  Let's hope that the repairs aren't too expensive and that he's back and competitive soon. The other results are as follows: Class A                        Darryl Bennett            Car # 10        Suzuki Swift Class B
