Readers’ Photos # 113: XM Falcon coupe
Today’s feature car - a magnificent, apparently unmolested XM Falcon coupe - was photographed by GlamRock during a recent sojourn in St Helens on Tasmania’s north east coast. It did appear to be wearing some widened steel wheels, coupled with original hubcaps and trim rings, as well as featuring a bit of extra chrome and contrasting duco aft of the rear wheel, but was otherwise stockers. Early Falcons have a very strong following in the island state, with what seem to be a bit of a bias towards the coupe and utility variants, although there are a reasonable number of sedans and wagons still getting about. What are less common, however, are the older Falcon panel vans; for some reason they’ve all but disappeared, having once been quite plentiful. If you enjoyed this post, why not have a look around the rest of the uppermiddlepetrolhead site? There are stacks of early Fords, Holdens and Chryslers, plus any number of classic, sports and performance cars on show....
