Random # 270: Circa 1970 Mach I Mustang Fastback

I'm no Mustang expert, having had to resort to Wikipedia to try to date this awesome right-hand drive Mach I.  As an educated guess, I'd say 1970, as the previous model / year features a vent on either side, quite high up, just above the rear mudguard.  The 1972 edition is altogether squarer, looking not too dissimilar to an XB Falcon hardtop (but not half as good, I reckon!).

For my money, this car is only a bee's willy less desirable than the mid-60s' fastbacks that are, otherwise, my favourite Mustangs.  A red one was featured here on this 'blog only a few posts ago.

There's almost something of the Aston Martin Vantage about this car - less so for the rear view, perhaps - and, as they're one of my all time most-loved British vehicles, you can take that as high praise for this American muscle machine.  That and the fact that it had a steady stream of admirers for the hour or so it was parked in Hobart's Salamanca restaurant strip!
