Baskerville Historics 2018 # 2: On-Track Action & Grid Photos

I've kicked off this series of photos - taken on Day One of the 2018 Baskerville Historics - out of sequence, just to give readers a teaser of what's to follow.  The racing was door-to-door, especially in the HQ Holden series.  However, the sideways action wasn't confined to that category, with plenty of thrills to be seen from cars of every make and model.  Be sure to check out my images of a very tail-happy Jag exiting Corner One, as well as all the open-wheeler, sports-racing, sports, and modified and production saloon competitions!

If you haven't already done so, may I suggest you visit my related post, Baskerville Historics 2018 # 1: Grid and Pits Photos, on Upper Middle Petrol Head?  There you'll find plenty more photos of the event, plus there are many, many more classic car-related images from Tasmania, mainland Australia and around the world elsewhere on the site.

As promised in Baskerville Historics 2018 # 1, here are a few photos of a gorgeous Jag getting a little over-cooked on Corner One!  Enjoy the sequence!

Going ...

Going ...

Going ...

Still going ...

Still going ...

Still not gone ...

Also going, to a certain degree, was my ability to maintain focus!
Hangin' in there ...

Hasn't lost it totally ...

It's a wild ride ...

But no harm done!

What's going on in the photo above?  Keep an eye on the black HQ just nosing into the bottom right of shot.

Here he comes ...

A bit more ...

Oh dear ...

Bye bye ...

Phew!

Spilled oil seems to have been a factor in the HQ qualifying session, as shown above and below ...

The Bandit clearly has no intention of being out-done by a Jag ... !

Superb drifting skills!

There's a distinct theme developing here ...

Smokin' 'em up!

Seems like everyone's getting in on the act!

Clearly a very competitive field!

It's contagious!

Probably a good idea!
