Random # 249: VW Type 3 Wagon

I concede that this Type 3 wagon, photographed under Brisbane's Story Bridge, Queensland, isn't the finest example I've ever seen.  However, it was still pretty damned cool, sitting on slightly lowered suspension and featuring some very stylish - and, might I add, tastefully understated - alloy wheels.  The only thing that really ruined it was the work of the Brisbane City Council and their parking compliance wallahs! Random # 248: Lost Bean 1964 Kombi Coffee Van

It's a classic split-screen Kombi and a coffee van!  A good coffee van at that!  Too bad it's a regular fixture on Brisbane's South Bank because, if it were Hobart-based, I think I'd be a regular visitor.   U M P H (uppermiddlepetrolhead.blogspot.com.au.) All iPhone images.

Readers' Photos # 30: Early Ford F-Truck

Classic car fans looking for a good feed could do worse than to check out this, the latest - and easily the most stylish - food van to hit the Hobart scene since, well ... forever!  Transits and old Bedfords are ok but they don't hold a candle to Ty's fabulous F and its matching retro-caravan / mobile kitchen.  I'm also credibly informed that Ty is a wizard cook!  Coming to a public space near you soon! Random # 247: Hot Rod

I don't know anything at all about hot rods or cars from the 1930s (even attributing this car to that decade is a wild guess, only slightly informed by the tiny hint in the rego number!).  Therefore, I'm not saying anything other than to state my admiration for whatever it might be.  Cool!  Very cool indeed!! Random # 246: Morris 1000

Who doesn't love a Morrie?  They're just so ... good natured?  I dunno if that's quite the right way to describe them but it'd be hard to think ill of them, surely? U M P H (uppermiddlepetrolhead.blogspot.com.au.) All iPhone images

Random # 245: GTR XU/1 Torana

This better than new XU/1 has already attracted quite a bit of excitement, having recently featured in a post from Kingborough Exhaust on the Custom, Street and Muscle Tasmania Facebook page.  It's just had a new custom exhaust fiited.  Now it seems that it's having new tyres, or perhaps a balance and alignment done, as it was spotted at Bob Jane, Hobart.  Here's to hoping we'll be seeing more of it in and around the south of the state! Readers' Photos # 29: Kremer Racing Edition Porsche 911

The King Island Correspondent spotted this magnificent Kremer edition 911 on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.  For those not in the know - like me, until Google came to my rescue ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kremer_Racing ) - Kremer Racing is a German-based tuning company famed for their high-performance Porsches that, in many instances, have beaten Porsche factory-backed cars.  Respect!
