Random # 386: HQ Monaro Coupe

It's unlikely that I'll ever tire of posting HQ pics, especially when they're of Monaros and, more especially, Monaro coupes!  Mind you, the term coupe is a misnomer; they're actually pillarless and have roll-down rear windows, so, technically, they should be referred to as hardtops.  Perhaps this was intended to differentiate them from their early 1970s Ford rivals, the also very sexy XA Falcon hardtops, but I guess that's something only long-retired GM marketing people might know. The example shown here looked to be very straight and original.  I'm not sure if the tan vinyl roof was ex-factory or not but, either way, it looked really good with the yellowy-gold duco.  The whole car was in great nick; it's a credit to its owner and really quite remarkable for a car that's just two years short of celebrating the big Five-O!     Did you enjoy this post?  If so, why not check out the rest of the uppermiddlepetrolhead site?  There are seriously hundreds and
