Random # 247: Hot Rod

Image
I don't know anything at all about hot rods or cars from the 1930s (even attributing this car to that decade is a wild guess, only slightly informed by the tiny hint in the rego number!).  Therefore, I'm not saying anything other than to state my admiration for whatever it might be.  Cool!  Very cool indeed!! Random # 246: Morris 1000

Image
Who doesn't love a Morrie?  They're just so ... good natured?  I dunno if that's quite the right way to describe them but it'd be hard to think ill of them, surely? U M P H (uppermiddlepetrolhead.blogspot.com.au.) All iPhone images

Random # 245: GTR XU/1 Torana

Image
This better than new XU/1 has already attracted quite a bit of excitement, having recently featured in a post from Kingborough Exhaust on the Custom, Street and Muscle Tasmania Facebook page.  It's just had a new custom exhaust fiited.  Now it seems that it's having new tyres, or perhaps a balance and alignment done, as it was spotted at Bob Jane, Hobart.  Here's to hoping we'll be seeing more of it in and around the south of the state! Readers' Photos # 29: Kremer Racing Edition Porsche 911

Image
The King Island Correspondent spotted this magnificent Kremer edition 911 on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.  For those not in the know - like me, until Google came to my rescue ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kremer_Racing ) - Kremer Racing is a German-based tuning company famed for their high-performance Porsches that, in many instances, have beaten Porsche factory-backed cars.  Respect! Readers' Photos # 28: The Sanctuary Cove Car Show

Image
The following photos, taken at the Sanctuary Cove car show in in Queensland during September 2018, are from regular correspondent Matt.  There was certainly some auto-exotica there on the day.  However, I wouldn't mind betting that the ripper Aussie-built GT Falcon above attracted just as much - if not more - attention than any of the European, Japanese and American marques there on the day. Random # 244: VC Commodore

Image
This VC Commodore looked stunning with its magnificent body kit, comprising front and rear spoilers and fat flares that set off its wide Bathurst Globe -styled alloys.  It looked right at home at the 2018 Baskerville Historics ( https://baskervillehistorics.com/ ), like it was ready to put in a lap or two! Random # 243: XL Ford Falcon

Image
I'm still often surprised just how many really, really great cars there are in Tasmania.  For example, this is the first time I've ever spotted this awesome looking XL Falcon with its rich, lustrous metallic flake duco and Superlite  wheels.  The body appears to be basically unmolested, other than the rear door handles having been shaved.  It runs front disc brakes and has a really tidy - and very comfortable looking - contemporary-style interior with bolstered leather bucket seats, a sports steering wheel and full instrumentation.
