Alfa Romeo Week - From the UMPH Archives ...

Image
Rounding out Alfa Week is this absolutely perfect Giulietta which, if you hadn't already guessed, is amongst UMPH's favourite cars.  (Please see: http://uppermiddlepetrolhead.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/classics-by-beach-06-sep-15.html.) It's often seen at the first Sunday morning of the month events held at Sandy Bay's Long Beach middle car park, as are a several other examples of the marque. Here are a few other Alfas that feature elsewhere on Upper Middle Petrol Head and, where there are more photos of the featured car, a link to the appropriate post: (http://uppermiddlepetrolhead.blogspot.com.au/2017/02/random-99-alfa-romeo-spider.html.) Alfa Romeo Week - Car # 4: GTV

Image
This clean, straight and largely rust-free GTV belongs to Hobart-based Alfisti Paul, who tells UMPH that he has a number of other examples of the marque, including a 105 that he's just about to put back on the road and a GTV6.  A follow-up visit to Paul's place to photograph the rest of his collection is on the cards!   U M P H (uppermiddlepetrolhead.blogspot.com.au.) iPhone images.

Alfa Romeo Week - Car # 3: GTV

Image
This striking 1970s Alfa Romeo GTV is a loud 'n' proud expression of the marque with its bright red paint job, sleek racing mirrors and green and white stripes on the boot lid.  It also features an original set of GTV alloy wheels and a very tidy interior, and is topped off nicely with a large sliding sunroof.  The non-standard bonnet scoops may not be to everyone's liking but don't look too bad in the whole scheme of things, as do the colour-coded front and rear bumpers and the matching Alfa centre grille.   U M P H (uppermiddlepetrolhead.blogspot.com.au.) Alfa Romeo Week - Car # 2: 1600 105

Image
This lovely race-prepped 1600 cc Alfa 105 is being maintained and developed by Steve Caplice at Fogarty Automotive, his North Hobart-based Italian car specialist workshop.  It's currently having a few final minor bugs sorted out before its owner takes it to the track in either CAMS Group N or Group S spec.  Irrespective of which class it ends up being campaigned in, it's sure to be a hoot! Alfa Romeo Week - Car # 1: GTV6 2.5

Image
This Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5 is in pretty good nick for its age, with really straight, rust-free panels, glossy metallic paint and a tidy interior.  It's ostensibly standard, other than the great looking six-spoke alloy wheels.  It's often seen gracing the North Hobart restaurant strip and is a regular at Sandy Bay's monthly Classics by the Beach event (1st Sunday of every month).  U M P H (uppermiddlepetrolhead.blogspot.com.au.)
